The process of observing opponents starts off from the very start of the hand. You need to read others as soon as you start arranging the pieces of the puzzle. So the next time you play with him, you know him inside out.
Observing someone in poker closely is often known as soul reading. The more you observe, the more information you gather. To know an opponent inside out, you must watch them whether you are in the hand or not. Notice how they play their draws or what they do when they win pot after pot. Which category do they fall under – loose, tight, passive or aggressive? What position are they in?
And then you don’t simply observe and store data within yourself, you need to apply it correctly at appropriate places by assembling the data to read the opponent ever time you play with him.
